Will you be the DJ or do you have other DJ associates that you send out?
I will be the DJ for your event.
How many weddings do you do each year?
I do between 20-40 weddings per year. I'm a full-time DJ, so I'm serious about ensuring you have the best wedding experience possible.
What other kind of events do you DJ?
I split my time between DJing weddings, Mitzvahs, nightclubs, corporate events, private events, and Greek events in Raleigh, Charlotte, and Piedmont NC areas along with whatever else comes my way. I work nightclubs on a regular basis, with a focus on live mixing, song selection, and turntablism to keep the party going. I bring a similar energy to weddings, which truly sets me apart in the industry.
Is your music "clean?"
Not to worry, all my music is clean and censored, and I tone down the more "clubby" elements. Your dance party will be fun, energetic, and appealing to all demographics in attendance while still staying classy.
Do you travel?
Yes. There is no travel fee within 50 miles of Raleigh. I will travel (driving) up to 4-5 hours from the Raleigh area with normal travel fees. Depending upon the time and distance of the event, I may require a hotel room for a night. Any distance farther than ~250 miles will require a flight and accommodations.
How many events do you perform in a day?
Only one event per day. Your wedding, corporate party, mitzvah, or other special event will be my only event scheduled for the day.
When do you arrive to set up for the event?
That depends on the amount of sound & lighting equipment required, but typically 1-3 hours beforehand. Some intricate light shows require up to 5 hours of setup, and up to 3 hours of breakdown time. There is no charge for setup and breakdown.
Would you also be the emcee and make announcements during the event?
Absolutely. I can be involved in the announcements as much or as little as you wish. I have extensive MC experience spread throughout many different event types. I can also work closely with your event coordinator to ensure that your program stays on schedule.
How involved can I be in selecting music for the wedding?
As much as you'd like! Typically I ask the bride/groom for a few genres, artists, and songs they like for the following sections: ceremony, cocktail hour, & dinner. On top of that, I ask for a list of 20 songs you absolutely want to hear during dancing, then take those and combine them with our read of the crowd and musical knowledge. If there are certain tracks you prefer not to be played, I also have a 'do not play list' that I strictly abide by.
I noticed you DJ a lot of multicultural events. Do you play other types of music as well? For example, Top 40, Oldies, 80s/90s, Rock, or Hip Hop?
Absolutely! I'm well-versed in mainstream party music, it just so happens that I specialize in international music as well. As always, I will work extensively with you to make sure the musical selection at your event is exactly to your liking, whatever the theme may be.
Do you take requests from guests?
Definitely! When I DJ, I mix tracks live (like a club DJ). I will find an appropriate tempo and place to mix requests in, but I do my best to accommodate all requests as long as they are in line with your guidelines and appropriate for the crowd.
What is the retainer required to secure the date?
I require a 50% deposit upon signing the contract, with the remainder of the balance due thirty days prior to the event.
How much do you charge?
Each event is unique due to different crowd sizes, venue sizes, and budgets. I sit with clients, take these details into consideration, and figure out the best package for them. Please contact us for more information.
